What's a Registry Lock?

Lock business-critical and important domains at the registry operator level to ensure the highest level of security. Registry Lock implements another, independent level of authentication above that of the registrar.
It requires strict authentication of registrar staff by the registry operator before a domain can be released for updates, transfers, and other changes.

Which TLDs offer a Registry Lock?

Currently, InterNetX offers the Registry Lock service for the following TLDs.

How does the registry lock for .AT work?

The activation of Registry Lock at .AT is done by the InterNetX Domain Services department.
A lock contact will be registered via an email address, this contact can authorize future changes to the domain.
For changes InterNetX can remove the lock, but the lock contact must confirm the change again separately.
The deactivation of the registry lock for .AT is also done by InterNetX.

How does the registry lock for .DE work?

A lock form in written form is required for the activation of Registry Lock for .DE. The activation is done by the InterNetX Domain Services department.
The domain owner names a lock contact on the lock form, who will be informed about changes to the domain in the future and can authorize them.
The domain owner has to be active for the activation of the Registry Lock.
An update of the domain is therefore still possible, but all changes must be confirmed separately by the specified lock contact.
The lock contact must be reachable by text (SMS) and email. A change of the lock contact is possible in written form.
For the deactivation of Registry Lock for .DE an unlock form in written form is also necessary.

How does the registry lock for .CH work?

The activation of Registry Lock for .CH is done by the InterNetX Domain Services department.
For changes InterNetX can temporaryly remove the lock for 24 hours and updates of the domain are possible.
After the 24 hour-period the domain is automatically secured again with the Registry Lock.
The deactivation of the Registry Lock for .CH is also done by InterNetX.

How does the registry lock for .COM/.NET work?

The activation of Registry Lock for .COM/.NET is done by the InterNetX Domain Services department.
For changes InterNetX can cancel the lock, a reactivation of the Registry Lock after the update of the domain is possible.
Deactivation of Registry Lock for .COM/.NET is also done by InterNetX.

How does the registry lock for .SE work?

The activation of Registry Lock for .SE is done by the InterNetX Domain Services department.
For changes InterNetX can temporaryly remove the lock for 8 hours and updates of the domain are possible.
After the 8 hour-period the domain is automatically secured again with the Registry Lock.
The deactivation of the Registry Lock for .SE is also done by InterNetX.
