The Sedo domain portfolio as part of the InterNetX domain market

The domain market is a service offered by InterNetX for the registration and purchase of premium domains. It offers a curated selection of domains that are particularly valuable due to their briefness, conciseness or relevance and are therefore categorised as premium domains. These domains are highly marketable and easy to remember, which makes them attractive for companies.

Within AutoDNS, the marketplace is aimed at potential buyers of premium domains as well as companies and individuals who are looking for high-quality domain names to strengthen their online presence.

In addition to premium domains offered directly by the respective registries, the InterNetX Domain Market now also offers the complete Sedo domain portfolio including all domains with the "make-offer" sales option. Previously, only domains from the SedoMLS network were offered here for the buy-now option.

Why is it better to buy domains via the Premium Domain Market instead of directly from Sedo?

The advantage on the domain market is that the transfer of SedoMLS buy-now domains, including change of ownership, is automated. Manual processing is no longer necessary and the domains are transferred to the AutoDNS account within a very short time. The price of the domains on Sedo and on the domain market generally hardly differ.

Sedo parking

SedoParking enables domain owners to generate potential advertising revenue by placing relevant adverts on the parked domains. Sedo uses special algorithms to select suitable adverts based on the topics and content of the domain. When visitors click on these adverts or perform other actions, the domain owner can generate revenue.

SedoParking can be a way to maximize the financial potential of unused domains by passively generating revenue. The success of SedoParking depends on various factors, such as the domain quality, the traffic on the domain and the relevance of the adverts.

The Sedo domain sale

Sedo domain sales offer domain owners an effective way to sell their domains worldwide. For domain buyers, it is an uncomplicated access to a multitude of domain offers on a trustworthy platform.

To offer a domain for sale, the domain owner must create a free Sedo account, provide the domain with the relevant information and a selling price and list it on the Sedo domain exchange. Buyers interested in a domain can simply make contact and submit purchase offers. The sale can then be processed efficiently and securely via the platform.

Sedo domain purchase

If you are interested in buying a domain, you can switch directly from the AutoDNS UI to Sedo and the purchase options. The use of the brokerage service is now also available.

To activate the SedoMLS functions, the use of 2-factor authentication for the AutoDNS login is mandatory. If it is not yet used, the setup is requested during the activation of the automatic mode and can be carried out directly.

SedoMLS - Multi Listing Service

With SedoMLS (Multi Listing Service), domains for sale can be presented not only on the Sedo platform, but also on a large number of partner websites. SedoMLS partners are domain registrars and online marketplaces,

By using SedoMLS, domain sellers have a convenient way of presenting domains on several platforms simultaneously without having to operate each platform separately. This increases efficiency in the sales process and can lead to faster sales. This co-operation creates a wider reach for the sales offers and more potential buyers are reached.

Activating the Sedo functions in the AutoDNS platform

Only one Sedo account can be linked per AutoDNS customer, sub-users must use the Sedo account of the main user. You cannot link your own Sedo accounts.

The Sedo user name and the registrar listing ID must be entered.
The registrar listing ID can be found after logging in to Sedo under My customer data → General tab 

Parking domains at Sedo

Please note that you must first complete the parking certification in your Sedo customer account in order to receive text ads from Sedos premium advertising partners. You can find the information in your account --> My Sedo --> My Account --> Certifications --> Domain parking.

Domains can be parked by changing the name servers at Sedo. This can be done directly when registering a new domain or for already registered domains. 

For already registered domains

→ PORTFOLIO → DOMAINS tab

→ Nameserver tab

→ Select Sedo Parking nameserver in the Name server drop-down menu

If no Sedo account is linked yet, this link can now be created.

Domain sales with automatic mode

By activating the Sedo functions, the automatic mode can be set up so that the user no longer has to switch to Sedo.com to sell domains. Everything can be handled via the AutoDNS platform. If you prefer, you can also opt for manual mode.

This is what the manual mode does:

The selected domains are listed in the domain marketplace. All actions required for the sale must be carried out in Sedo.com. SedoMLS must also be activated manually.

The automatic mode can do this:

  • the correct registrar is automatically set when offering
  • synchronisation of domains with Sedo
  • the SedoMLS option is activated when a fixed price is set for a domain, making the domain available in SedoMLS Premium with instant transfer.
  • the domains are listed in the AutoDNS Domain Marketplace in the Sell tab and can be monitored and edited there.

Using automatic mode to sell for the first time

If the Sedo functions are activated, some configurations must be made when selling domains with the automatic mode for the first time.

→ PORTFOLIO → Select domains --> Select Offer on marketplace in the More menu

Three important steps after clicking on the Automatic card:

  • Among other things, consent must be given that domains may actually be put up for sale and the option to give subusers authorisation to sell domains is also activated.

  • 2-factor authentication is mandatory (if it is not already activated)

  • The details of the sales price can be specified

For all further domains that are to be sold using the automatic mode, only the details of the selling price need to be specified.

Offer domains for sale

There are two different areas in the AutoDNS Platform where domains can be put up for sale.  These are the PORTFOLIO and the DOMAIN MARKETPLACE.

Sale in PORTFOLIO

→ DOMAINS → PORTFOLIO

In the portfolio, the Offer on marketplace command for domain sales can be found in the More menu (three dots). This can be found in the overview to the right of each listed domain. If several domains are to be offered for sale, they must be selected in the list and then the command in the More menu at the top right of the window must be used.

→ DOMAINS → DOMAIN MARKETPLACE → SELL tab

The SELL tab contains an overview of the domains already offered for sale. To offer new domains

→ Click on +

 → In the Offer on marketplace window, select the desired domains from the drop-down list

→ Select the desired mode

→ Under Automatic mode, enter the required price details for Sedo

The domain is displayed with the price settings and the automatic sales mode in the PORTFOLIO overview.

Domains that are offered for sale also appear in the DOMAIN STUDIO. They are marked with  IN PORTFOLIO

Make Offer - Offer domains on a negotiating basis

A fixed price can be entered for the sale of domains or the price can be set as a basis for negotiation. Domains on a negotiation basis can now also be found in the AutoDNS UI and can either be transferred or negotiated via a link on a sedo.com landing page. 

The Make Offer price option gives interested parties the opportunity to place a bid for a domain. This allows domain owners to react flexibly to offers and potentially achieve higher prices for their domains. The service can also provide insight into the asking prices of potential buyers and help to better understand the market value of the domain.



Buying domains

If a domain found in DomainStudio is displayed as already registered, purchase options are available.

The Sedo brokerage service can now also be used.  Brokerage means that Sedo can be commissioned as an external partner to procure a domain that is already taken.

The Sedo Brokerage Service is particularly useful for interested parties who would like to purchase a valuable domain but do not have the time or experience to manage the purchase process themselves. 
Sedo will contact the domain owner and evaluate the possibility and conditions of a domain purchase.

Through professional support and negotiation skills, the brokerage service increases the likelihood of a successful and profitable purchase of a domain that is not actually for sale. 

ACLs for domain trading with Sedo

ACL for the purchase of domains

Open ACL area: → Account icon → User Management → Access rights tab → ACL group DOMAINS

If the ACL is activated, the external links to Sedo are displayed for Sedo domains. This applies both to domains with the type “make offer” and all other domains that are always “brokerage”.

The ACL setting is inherited by the sub-users, who are then directed to Sedo to purchase the domains.

This means that the Sedo offer is also available to sub-users via the external links, which was previously not the case. The premium market is not directly available, but the Sedo domains will appear in the search results in Domain Studio.

ACLs for the sale of domains

Open ACL area: → Account icon → User management → Access rights tab → ACL group SELL DOMAINS

The automatic mode only works with a Sedo account that is linked to the main user.

If a sub-user wants to use Sedo independently and place its own domains with Sedo, the ACL Sell domains manually must be activated in his or her account. 

However, automatic selling is reserved for the main user/customer or their clones or own sub-users.

In manual mode, inheritance to the sub-users can be configured. The ACL can be released for all sub-users and clone users or only for selected sub-users.
